Q: There is an event that I need covered. Could you send someone out to do it?
A: CCAT exists to help the citizens of Carver learn how produce their own television programs, like taping events around the community, so that they may showcase them on channel 13. That means any resident, regardless of experience, may become a member and learn how to use a camcorder, edit or produce a studio program. CCAT has only one full-time employee, so it would be impossible to cover everything that residents may want covered. But that is why CCAT is television by and for Carver. It's TV that you do!

Q: Where does CCAT get its funding from?
A: CCAT receives its funding from an agreement the town has with Comcast, Carver's cable provider. Comcast agrees to pay 3% of it's yearly gross revenues towards the upkeep of CCAT in exchange for use of the utility poles, which are a public right-of-way to string it's cable throughout the town. In other words, it is akin to "rent" that Comcast pays. Carver's contract with Comcast is up in 2007. This will give the town a chance to renegotiate the terms of the license which includes everything to do with cable in town including CCAT funding.

Q: CCAT is just for the schools, right?
A: CCAT is for the entire town! We are located in the middle school but we're open for everyone including all non-profit organizations and individuals. Anyone who lives or works in Carver from middle school students to senior citizens can become a member, get involved and learn how to produce their own programming.
